| Summary: |
| More recently, a contemporary approach to spatial management has implied an efficient, reliable and quality acquisition of spatial data. Modern geodetic equipment offers increasingly flexible and effective data collection methods that provide their end users with more and more possibilities to make business decisions in a quality way. At the same time, this data represents a spatial basis for the implementation of the GIS system, the successful use of which in the local self-governance operational systems marks a route toward establishing an “e-governance”. This paper contains an overview of the results and comparative advantages of data collection by mobile mapping system (MMS), and a way of the implementation of the idea of effective spatial management on the example of the Directorate for Development of the Municipality of Backa Palanka.
