	Summary:
	The paper identified the areas that pose the greatest ecological constraint to further development of the municipality. Also, have been identified and ecological potentials that are the basis for spatial development of the local community. Based on the identified constraints and potential, as well as on the methodology of spatial differentiation of Environment, made the categorization of the municipal environmental Negotin. Based on the analysis and assessment of the current situation can be stated that the territory of the Municipality of Negotin is characterized by a relatively protected environment. In accordance with the categorization of the environment given in the Spatial Plan of the Republic of Serbia (2010), in the municipality of Negotin can be distinguished four types of areas with different environmental quality. Such a proposal should be the determinant of sustainable development of the municipality and the steering mechanism for the municipal government in order to effectively manage the activities planned physical resources that the municipality has.
