| Summary: |
| Downtown of Subotica is mainly composed of buildings constructed in the early 20th century. All of them are characterized by large, attractive loft space that can relatively easy be transformed into more usable spaces for different purposes. To achieve this, it is necessary to reconstruct existing floor structure. With a proper application of composite plates and steel, it is very easy to realize that. At the same time we have load increase due new parts of construction and imposed load which is insignificant and doesn’t require the need for strenghtening of the walls and foundations. This approach was used in the preparation of the project of the loft reconstruction of the Municipal Museum of Subotica. The loft needed to be repurposed in the showroom. There was a slight increase in the structure load and it was easy to achieve the required levels of the floor and roof constructions.
