NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF THE TRANSIENT FLOW EQUATIONS

 Summary:
 This paper presents a numerical solution of the hydraulic transients equations. The numerical solution is based on two modeling approaches, the exact explicit method and the interpolated explicit method, both using the fixed computational grid. The first approach is the so called exact explicit method, using simplified equations of motion and continuity. The second approach is the interpolated explicit method, using complete equations with interpolation. The two approches are then tested on the same example for comparison.
