 Summary:
One of the most important factors for economical design solutions is carefully choose of optimality criterion. This paper presents minimum cost and minimal weight (volume) as a criteria for building and exploitation of a steel structure hall.We analyzed high-shelf warehouse with dimensions: 42m x 38m and height 20.3m. Analysis of steel structures for the most economical design included three different variant solutions. In the first solution three main steel trusses with span 38m with continuous roof beams and gable as well as longitudinal facade construction. The second solution have one or three interior columns with transverse lattice girders, span 19.oom. The third solution is designed with 38.0m span space frame in the middle of the hall. Over longitudinal lattice girders, span 19.5o m, are steel roof beams with struts. Final solution was adopted according to the optimal steel cost and weight of the structure as well as price of exploitation. The base material for the steel structure is Č0361 (S235), appropriate according to SRPS C.B0.500 (JUSEN 10025/2003).
