 Summary:
Settlements at the Balkans developed in the similar way, mostly continuously around one main square. Continuous expansion occurs spontaneously because people settled mainly in places that could provide them with certain resources for survival and life. With the development of settlements over a period, the necessary traffic also developed. One cannot imagine the functioning of one without the other, so one concludes that settlements and traffic are closely connected. The paper defines, through consideration of the development of smaller settlements and the traffic that serves them, what should be fixed, to eliminate or mitigate the weak points in the further development of settlements and traffic in the Balkans, while also talking into consideration their sustainability.
