 Summary:
Life cycle assessment is increasingly being used worldwide to quantify the environmental performance of buildings, set impact reduction targets, and ensure a safe environment for future generations. In building material sector there are specific regulations adopted by the European Union. However, there are differences in the level of enactment for different EU member countries. The present paper underlines the need for new regulations in the building materials, considering the sustainability approach in this filed.
