 Summary:
The paper presents the development and testing of one-dimensional unsteady flow in a branched network of open channels with “internal” boundary conditions. The Von-Neumann’s stability analisis of the Preissmann’s scheme was done for the simplified flow equations. The numerical solution of de St. Venant’s equations was tested using a series of numerical xperiments, including standard ASCE tests. The model of the branched channel network includes “internal” boundary conditions. “Internal” boundary conditions were checked by makig sure that each condition satisfies related hydraulic laws for a series of unsteady flow situations.
