 Summary:
 In constant search for a more economical solution, engineering problems are threated with tools of Statistics and Probabilistics, thus the contemporary design codes are usually based on the results of probabilistic analysis. In this paper we present a procedure for calculating the reliability index for two different timber trusses, which can serve as a basis for development of general structural design methods that include the Theory of probability, as well as an example of a probabilistic analysis procedure for those who need one.
