 Summary:
Due to negligence of the historical heritage, a significant disturbance of deep links between architecture and construction on one hand, and traditional social, cultural, and historical layers on the other, emerges. Example of such negligence is evidenced on heritage building - house of Misic, settled in the very heart of city of Nis, left fully to decay of time. This monument of vernacular architecture, one of the most interesting buildings of Balkan architecture of oriental style, carries undoubtedly historical, architectural and artistic significance. This paper is inspired by the fact that current moment is the last one to undertake the reconstruction of this building. It is written with the aim to make a record of particularity and value of house of Misic, and also to underline the need for urgent physical protection of the monument.
