 Summary:
Pervious concrete pavement is one of the so-called lightweight concretes due to its bulk density is in the range of 1600 to 2000 kg/m3. The name was obtained because of the content of pores that ranging from 15-35%, which promotes rapid removal of surface and atmospheric waters from pavement. Due to the significant share of pores in this kind of concrete leads to certain limitations in using this type of construction. Most commonly used in parking lots, on roads with light traffic load, in areas where a significant amount of rainfall, paths, coasts, rivers and etc. The paper presents the data of pervious studies using different types of aggregates and cement replacements with a certain amount of ash and adding air entraining admixtures. The results are relating to the display of compressive strength, pore content (velocity water flow) and flexural strength of porous concrete pavement. Based on analyzed data it is concluded that with larger amounts of pores compressive and flexural strength reduces, while the rate of water flow increases. Therefore an optimum has to be found where this type of pavement will be able to accept water, and thereby have a certain load capacity.
