 Summary:
Budapest100 was launched in 2011 by Open Society Archives and KÉK Contemporary Architecture Centre to celebrate 100-year-old buildings in Budapest, with the participation of volunteers, locals and residents. The open house weekend gives the guests a chance to visit not only well-maintained, historic buildings, but also run-down apartments or industrial buildings. The only term of participation is that the 100-year-old house should be opened during that weekend. Meanwhile Budapest100 initiates joint thinking about renewal and encourages the creation of coherent residential communities, it also draws attention to the rich built and cultural heritage of the city and the creative ways of using it.
