 Summary:
Influence of cross sectional shape of reinforced concrete prismatic folded plate structure, of span length L=20m, on internal forces and displacements was analysed using finite strip method. The paper presents and comments obtained diagrams of displacements, rotations, internal forces, moments and stresses. Selection of the optimal cross-section can be made based on comparisons of these diagrams for different shell "depth". By analysis of obtained diagrams it is concluded that too "shallow" cross sections of prismatic folded plates should be avoided. Convenient fo rm of the cross section is obtained by placing particular plates under such an angle to achieve maximum similarity with the corresponding cylindrical shell.
