 Summary:
Because of the increasing use of lightweight aggregate concrete as a construction material, the paper gives its classification, as well as a brief summary of its advantages and disadvantages in relation to a normal weight concrete. The addition of fibers has proved efficient at improving the properties of lightweight aggregate concrete, especially in terms of correcting its brittle behavior in tension and bending. Based on the literature review, the influence of the type and amount of fibers on the properties of fresh and hardened lightweight aggregate concrete is presented.
