 Summary:
 Many structures may be exposed to impact loads. Their behavior under such extreme loading conditions is crucial for the safety of people and the environment. In modern design of structures, these loads are paid great attention. The paper presents a short theoretical and mathematical formulation of several methods by which the problem of impact can be analyzed, analysis of the time response of a simply supported beam was performed and also the comparison of the obtained results. In addition, linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis was performed using multifunctional Abaqus and Diana software.
