 Summary:
This paper presents the basic principles use of 3D printers in civil engineering, which is based on the technology of stereolithography - the process of creating objects where the material is applied layer by layer and form the desired shape. It’s also shown preliminary concepts currently available 3D systems used in construction as well as their basic characteristics, features and specifications. Special emphasis in this paper is placed on nanocomposites - materials that are obtained in the laboratory by using 3D printing technology and the materials that are used in the process of 3D printing - 3D compatible materials. The most famous 3D compatible materials are: antigravity materials, structurally modified fine-grained concrete, many other composite materials using the 3D printing are increasing application in the construction sector.
