 Summary:
The research presented in this paper deals with radical ideas and complex concepts in the works of one of the most controversial figures in contemporary architecture. To a great extent influenced by poststructuralist thinkers of the twentieth century - Derrida, Foucault and Deleuze – Peter Eisenman develops specifical thinking process based on a conceptual architectural form. His architecture moves beyond the traditional parameters of the constructed object, and presents itself rather through diagrams than through realized projects. As such, the architecture is no longer a passive settlement in space, but a complex multimedia event and instrument for the constitution of social reality. Through the application of diagrams, his work is directed towards form, as an objective purpose of architecture. Theoretical and practical principles in Eisenman’s work are constantly influenced by socioeconomic factors, and as such are characterized by complexity and multiple layers. The complex conceptual approach and the unity of theory and practice are the facts which distinguish this architect as one of the most important figures in the field of researching the boundaries of architectural discourse and creativity.
