GENERAL SOLUTION TO THE PASSENGER STATION IN THE SCOPE OF SUBOTICA JUNCTION DEVELOPMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY

 Summary:
 General solution to the complex of passenger station and train maintenance depot and workshops in the scope of Subotica junction development in the 21th century is presented in this work. The basis of the solution to the railway junction, i.e. Passenger station complex is a successful transit of the main double railway line (E85): Belgrade – Subotica – State Border (Kelebija) – Budapest through the junction and the city. All the other railway lines in the junction are well connected to the passenger station. In the other variant solutions to the junction, the complex of the main Passenger station and train maintenance depot and workshops is defined as intermodal transport center, taking into account the vicinity of the bus station. Train maintenance depot and workshops are planned southeast from the passenger station at the railway site. In this way, a significant part of this area is cleared for the requirements of the city. The structure / solution to this complex provides a combination of different transport technologies, meaning high-quality bus transportation and international, regional and local railway transport. Well-designed buildings, inspired by contemporary railway station complexes in Europe, which allow different types of integrated services, should be a part of the presented solution.
