 Summary:
In structures the connection between columns and flat reinforced concrete floor supported only by columns are the most critical places in the structure. There are several ways of design and reinforcing of the connections. The still applicable Serbian code foresees ensuring with stirrups in beams formed around columns in the slab. It is expected Eurocode 2 will be adopted in near future and to be applicable in Serbia. Eurocode 2 foresees completely different approach of design and way of reinforcing compared to P BAB ’87. The design is based on spatial lattice model formed from pressed concrete diagonals and tensioned verticals – strut and tie model. By analyzing the design results according the old and the new code, as well as taking into consideration of national documents for Eurocode 1992, results of maximum punching capacities are in a range when the input data is the same. In this paper is a short overview of current code and the upcoming old-new design code Eurocode 1992, 2004/AC:2010.
