 Summary:
The prefabricated elements, that is, circular shaped reinforced support is in ever increasing application in building of tunnel constructions. Depending on the conditions, various methods of calculation for such reinforced supports are being applied. One of them is the calculation of the circular shaped lining in a flexible environment, which has proven to be the most efficient solution so far. This work analyses the impact of the number and position of joint couplings to the tension and deformation of the tunnel construction (mounting lining) of the traffic tunnel. The analyses have been made for the single-track railroad tunnel and for highway tunnel with two traffic lanes. They are based on the interactive relation between rock volume and tunnel lining, and on the presumption of the homogeneity of the material and flexible behaviour of the tunnel lining.
