 Summary:
Exposure to the noise, which is higher than the acceptable level, leads to negative effects on human health. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid, prevent or reduce the adverse impact of noise. It is a long lasting process that involves the adoption of technical regulations, setting obligatory limits, prescribing measures, as well as their execution, education of population and a host of other activities. The necessary preconditions for fulfilling the basic requirements of the European and national technical regulations related to traffic noise are presented in this paper.
