 Summary:
This work provides a short overview development of devices for harmonic excitation and tests where they are used for the experimental dynamic analysis of structures. The first device is an electromagnetic vibration exciter. The main drive mechanism is an electromagnet that creates a vibration of the solenoid in magnetic field. Electric impulse go from the comuter to the electromagnet and that allows very precise setting of harmonic excitation . Drive mechanism of the another device ( mechanical shaker ) are electric motors whose rotation is converted to translational motion . In this way we are given harmonic disturbances to our models. Harmonic disturbances is usually applied in the experimental vibration analysis. On the mentioned devices we tested beam vibration system , surface carriers and spatial structure , and the results were compared with analytical and numerical results in SAP2000.
