 Summary:
This 13 storey office building is located in Belgrade in Zeleni Venac street no. 18. Main bearing structure is made of reinforced concrete up to the 12th storey, while the last two stories are completely constructed from structural steel. Total height of the building is 52.73 m. Based on the investors and architects demand a new design for the facade was prepared that retained the outer appearance of the old facade while the supporting structure of the facade is significantly different to the old one. This solution required that existing reinforced concrete elements undergo certain strengthening procedures. Prior to final strengthening design a detailed wind and gravity load analysis of the new glass facade were conducted. Additionally, samples were taken from the existing structure and materials were tested for their quality. Repair and strengthening was achieved with CFRP Laminates placed by taking into account effortless positioning of the new anchors for aluminum girders of the glass facade.
