 Summary:
The paper presents an overview of experimental research conducted on composite columns loaded with concentrated compression force. Cross section of columns consisted of steel tubes with concrete filling, while concentrated force was introduced through small square steel plate. Steel plates were chosen in three various dimensions and ultimate load capacity was compared against values obtained for representative column samples in which compression force was introduced over the whole column cross section. The paper shows specific stress-strain diagrams.
